A while back I posted some concept pages for digital download software I wanted to create. It’s a project that got sent to the backburner and never revived.
Now I’m back in need for such a solution and I simply don’t have the time to build it myself yet. I’ve searched high and low and come close to a solution but nothing seems that robust, so I ask: Are there no good digital download solutions?
My needs:
- Use PayPal IPN to handle payments.
- Manage digital downloads.
- Handle recurring subscriptions.
- Handle affiliate tracking.
e-junkie comes close, but they don’t handle any recurring subscriptions whatsoever. So if you know of something that will solve my problems (please don’t say os-commerce) please let me know!
Use Drupal + ubercart, can handle “software” checkouts and recurring subscriptions
Have you check out ldguard.com? Not sure if it has everything you need, but it may.
sorry typed wrong url… dlguard.com
Avactis is pretty sweet.
Mals e-commerce is a free shopping cart solution that integrates with paypal. It has a feature to offer digital downloads by specifying where the download is located on your server - etc…
WP E-commerce might fit the bill.

Have you checked AgileBill? It is open source.
have you tried fetch? It works with shopify and other carts…
the wp e-commerce plugin for wordpress is turning out to be a good option. its REALLY easy and supports digital downloads.
WP e-Commerce Plugin at WordPress
1. set your settings.
2. create a product group.
3. create a product.
at the very bottom of the product description page,
4. Choose a downloadable file for this product, and upload.
plus it uses an ajax store display. pretty sweet.
does it work? i havent personally tested it but it looks promising.
what dont you use wishlist membership http://member.wpwishlist.com/
@Mikey
Because it’s not a digital download store. There is a big different between what that plugin tries to do and what I’m looking for.
Their site also shows a wp admin panel from eons ago, leading me to believe they don’t keep their software up-to-date.
