Having trouble finding a cheap hotel near Panama City? Staying at a beachfront property can get expensive. The wise traveler will save lots of money by finding a hotel in Panama City. Econo Lodge, Comfort Inn & Suites, and Suburban Extended Stay Hotel are a few hotels near the beach that cost much less than the beachfront properties.
Affordable Hotels within 10 Minutes of the Beach
Stay at one of the many hotels along Highway 98, and you are only five miles from the beach. Best of all, you are even closer to many attractions. Stay at the Econo Lodge Panama City or the Comfort Inn & Suites, and enjoy the added luxury of an outdoor pool. You will also save money at these hotels because they both offer free parking, free Wi-Fi, and complimentary continental breakfast. (Image by Angie Whittemore)
Another economical option is the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel. It is clean and has a friendly staff. You’ll love saving time and money with the in-room kitchenette and laundry facilities on-site. Prepare breakfast or late night snacks without having to get out of your pajamas. Throw in a load of laundry after a day at the beach so you don’t have a wet bathing suit cluttering up your room.
Spring break does not have to break the bank. With college kids filling up the beachfront hotels, the prices tend to skyrocket. Unless you plan to spend all of your time in the sand, stay at a Panama City hotel. The water parks and other attractions are about five minutes from a hotel either way. When you stay in Panama City, you will save on hotel rooms as well as parking.
If you are planning a trip during the summer, the prices are also high for oceanfront views. But how much time do you really spend looking out your window at the ocean? You fill most of your time on the beach, at the water parks, or doing the other fun activities that the Florida panhandle has to offer. Don’t spend the extra money to stay on the beach. There are nearly 100 public beach access points providing free entrance, and most have parking. Book a room in Panama City, and you are just a few minutes from the beach.(Image by James Gordon)
More Than a Beach Town
Panama City has a lot to offer. In addition to deep-sea fishing, Gulf World Marine Park, St. Andrews State Park, and Zoo World are just a few of the attractions that you won’t want to miss. Discount tickets are available for the savvy traveler to take in a concert, ballet, or other cultural event. The Panama City Marina and surrounding area offers shopping, a civic center, art galleries, and restaurants with beautiful views of the bay. Enjoy a relaxing evening of dinner and a show just a few miles from the crowded beaches.
