So you’ve recently figured it out that you would like to bring you family (especially those precious kids) to go on a vacation? But you couldn’t find the perfect family travel destination and are torn between two or three places? Well, honestly, we don’t want to interrupt your decision but if you think you might need our help, we do have a perfect place for you to consider. What is a better place other than Gold Coast, Australia? Yes, you read that one correctly. The Gold Coast is one of the leading tourist destinations in Australia and a paradise of sand, surf and definitely more sun!
There are a lot of things to do and to see in Gold Coast and one of them is the landmark Q1. It is the tallest residential tower in the world and the only Australia’s observation deck by the beach. It allows visitors to gaze at the length of the coastline and best visited during the day, even during the bad weather! This is because you can expect to watch the strikes of lightning at the Q1’s 97.7 meter spire during thunderstorms. Getting off the beaches is a typical statement whenever you’re traveling to Australia, so why don’t you bring your family on whale watching then? You can actually see the humpback whales June through October on their migratory journey to warmer waters from the Antarctic. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll get to witness they’re waving their fins, slapping the tails and even breaching. Other than that, you can spot other marine life like the sea birds, orcas, huge loggerhead turtles and bottled-nose dolphins!(image by Jennifer Dawson)
The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is also a perfect place for you to bring your family to enjoy the presentations of wildlife. With size of over 65 acres, this compound is huge enough for a variety animals to be hosted and activities to be carried out there. Due to its massive size, a train tour is offered with a purchase of admission ticket for each visitor. Other than that, the Infinity Maze is definitely something you should really try. This is because the Infinity Maze is a very interesting place to visit. You enjoy it by walking through the maze that is filled with illusions, sound effects and funky music. All you need to do is to put on socks and cotton gloves in order to feel your way through the maze.
There a huge number of budget hotels in Gold Coast if you’re looking for cheaper accommodation. A double room will usually cost you between USD80-100 per night but if you’re having toddlers with you, we’d like to suggest for you to find a hotel that is a baby-friendly and completely safe for children. As for the cost of food, it is considered typical for most meals to cost more than USD25. But if you will be cooking your own meals, expect to spend around USD70-80 per week for groceries of basic food stuffs, vegetables, chicken and pasta. But if you’re staying in hostels, most of them will offer meals of around USD6 for each night.(image by The Holiday Club Pacific)
Gold Coast is a perfect destination for families who enjoy the sunny subtropical climate and beaches. If you love surfing and would like to expose your children with all kinds of water-related activities, Gold Coast is certainly a perfect place to go. Even though Surfer’s Paradise is a famous city, we’d like to suggest for you to head to less crowded cities like Coolangatta or Burleigh Heads.
